Taste Your Future | Program Director
I am Isabel Dopta – Program Director for Taste Your Future and genuinely in love with this program. In my role, I get to work with two amazing women – Nicole Gallace and Chelsey Walker – and an absolutely phenomenal Taste Your Future Advisory Team packed with the smartest minds from industry, education and government. Launched in early 2016, Taste Your Future started as a humble talent attraction and career awareness program for the food and beverage processing industry. Today, the program is all about a career development pipeline that starts with students and ends with happy people in rewarding careers. In my spare time, I have the privilege of advising Food and Beverage Ontario and Provision Coalition on strategic communications and stakeholder relations and I happily report for duty at Hill + Knowlton Strategies on food industry communication projects. Previous roles I think back to fondly include Director of Communications for Vineland Research and Innovation Centre and Sr. Policy Advisor for a previous Minister of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs.
Taste Your Future | Social Media + Creative Lead
My name is Chelsey Walker, I am the Social Media and Creative Lead for Taste Your Future. I am a bit of a nerd when it comes to communications. I love everything from being creative in my design work to developing strategic marketing strategies. After graduating from Algonquin College with a diploma in Public Relations I continued my education at Royal Roads University working towards my BA in Professional Communications. Since school I have been working in the field and have become crazy passionate about bringing projects to life. I am super detail oriented, enjoy being creative and love hearing about people’s passions. When I am not behind my computer sipping a tea, you will probably find me riding my horse.
FoodGrads Principal & Taste Your Future Champion
I am Nicole Gallace, founder of FoodGrads (because nobody else was doing it for this amazing industry!) and program partner with Taste Your Future. At FoodGrads, we are hands-on helping students and new graduates start their careers in the food and beverage industry. With loads of experience behind me as a food and beverage industry recruiter I know the industry is an incredible place to work and build a career. We all love food right? And let’s face it the jobs are endless – scientists, marketers, product developers, sustainable food specialists, engineers, communicators, production leads… Taste Your Future and FoodGrads have partnered to bring the absolute best resources, information and support to young people and recent grads navigating the world of food and beverage. If I am not at secondary or post-secondary schools talking with students you can find me working with employers to streamline experiential learning opportunities and connect young people with jobs.
